This Privacy Policy explains how PrepMaestro ("we", "our", or "us") and its products collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile applications and related services (the "Services"). It covers IELTS Maestro, our currently released product, and future products in the PrepMaestro suite including SATMaestro, TOEFLMaestro, GREMaestro and PTEMaestro.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on which Services you use, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account Data: name, email address, login identifiers, and profile details.
- Learning Data: test attempts, scores, preferences, progress, and saved content.
- Technical Data: device model, OS version, app version, and diagnostic logs.
- Media Data: recordings and files you upload for speaking practice or AI evaluation (applicable to products with speaking modules such as IELTS Maestro, TOEFLMaestro, PTEMaestro).
- Advertising Data: ad request and interaction data collected through Google AdMob, which may include device identifiers and usage signals.
- Payment Metadata: subscription status and purchase confirmation data from app stores.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide core exam-practice features and personalized recommendations across our products.
- Evaluate your responses using LLM-assisted analysis, calculate scores, and improve learning outcomes.
- Sync data across devices and maintain account integrity.
- Serve and measure advertising in supported app experiences via Google AdMob.
- Process subscriptions, troubleshoot issues, and provide support.
- Detect abuse, enforce security, and comply with legal obligations.
3. App Permissions (Including Camera and Microphone)
Our applications request certain device permissions only to provide core learning features:
- Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): used to capture photos for profile images.
- Microphone: used to record speaking responses for test practice and evaluation (applicable to products with speaking modules).
- Storage/Media Access: used to save files locally on your device and upload files from your device when you submit tests.
We do not access camera or microphone data in the background without your action. You can manage permissions at any time through your device settings.
4. Legal Basis and Consent
We process your information based on your consent, our contractual need to provide the Services, legitimate interests in improving platform quality and safety, and legal obligations where required.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with:
- Cloud service providers that support hosting, storage, analytics, and media processing.
- LLM and AI infrastructure providers that process submitted responses to generate test evaluations.
- Google AdMob and related advertising partners for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention.
- Payment platforms and app stores to validate and manage subscriptions.
- Professional advisers or authorities when required by law or legal process.

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for service delivery, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and security purposes. Retention periods may vary by data type and applicable law.
